Another Jam

I am gonna keep this short. I'm tired, but also wired, so it's gonna take me a while to be able to sleep anyway. (I promise I did sleep during the jam.)

Will I ever make or release a game that is not for a game jam? I don't know. I want to. Maybe someday. I took some time off after NaNoRenO so I could play some of the other entries, and start another Stardew Valley farm after the last update (which came out why I was working on Accidental Necromancy and it was so hard to put off!). And now I can listen to my husband swap back and forth between BG3 and Fallout 4, but I do not have the time to sink into new playthroughs of those right now :(

Anyway... IF I ever want to do such a short jam again, I'm gonna need to need to improve on my workflows, especially the art. I spend a lot of time on it and I'm still never happy. I know it's unlikely I'll ever love my own art, but I want to at least like it.

Things I was pleased with this go round-

  • The little bit of extra customization I did- not a lot, but I tweaked a couple UI things now that I've been learning how to do that without fucking something up.
  • I was able to figure out how to use Nighten's phone along with traditional nvl mode. I really enjoyed mixing it up so the story isn't just told with one method.
  • I started using a couple macros to help with stuff that I'd have to type out multiple times otherwise- really taking advantage of this gaming mouse I bought when playing FFXIV. I hate using a regular mouse now, and I'm going to keep looking for opportunities to use it for Ren'py stuff.

Next up is Otome Jam! I'll take a couple days off again to recuperate from Velox Formido, then it's back to work.
